What Makes This Recipe So Great

These wings have the perfect balance of heat and smoky flavor that makes them irresistible. They’re crispy on the outside and juicy inside, making them a great choice for any barbecue or game day.

Simple Cooking Tips

- Marinate the wings for at least an hour to let the spices fully soak in.
- Use medium-high heat on the grill to get a nice char without burning.
- Flip the wings frequently to cook them evenly and prevent flare-ups.

Directions

Cut the wings into sections, getting rid of the tips. Season them well with poultry seasoning salt, garlic salt, and black pepper. Heat up your grill to medium and give the grate a light coating of oil so nothing sticks. Place the wings on the grill and cook them slowly, turning every now and then, until the skin turns a nice golden brown—this should take about 45 minutes. To make sure they’re done, check that the meat near the bone reaches 165°F. While the wings are cooking, mix the hot sauce and butter in a microwave-safe dish and heat it for about a minute until the butter melts. Give it a good stir to blend everything together. Once the wings are grilled, dip them into the sauce, then put them back on the grill for 3 minutes. Dip them in the sauce again, grill for another 3 to 5 minutes, then transfer them to a serving dish with the rest of the sauce. Enjoy!

Simple Serving Suggestions

Serve these spicy wings with cool ranch or blue cheese dressing to balance the heat. Add some crunchy celery and carrot sticks on the side for a classic touch. They also pair well with a cold beer or a refreshing lemonade.

Leftover Tips

Store leftover wings in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat them in the oven or on the grill to keep the skin crispy. Avoid microwaving, as it can make the wings soggy.

The spicy rub was just right. I smoked them a bit longer than suggested and that made them extra tasty.
