Why This Recipe Is So Good

This dish combines tender, juicy meat with a spicy kick that excites your taste buds. It’s perfect for anyone who loves bold flavors and a bit of heat. Plus, it’s great for sharing with family and friends at any gathering.

Cooking Tips

- Marinate the ribs overnight to deepen the flavors.
- Cook low and slow to keep the meat tender and juicy.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure ribs reach the perfect internal temperature.

Step 1

Heat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Pour some flour into a shallow dish and coat the ribs evenly by dredging them in the flour. Heat a bit of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat, then brown the ribs on all sides—it should take about 2 to 3 minutes per side. Once browned, transfer the ribs to a casserole dish.

Step 2

In the same skillet, melt the butter and cook the chopped onion until it becomes soft and translucent, which usually takes around 5 minutes. Stir in the ketchup, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, and a pinch of salt until everything is well combined and smooth. Add a splash of water to the sauce and heat it through.

Step 3

Pour this sauce over the ribs in the casserole dish and cover it with foil. Pop it in the oven and bake for 90 minutes, remembering to spoon some of the sauce over the ribs every now and then. After that, flip the ribs over, baste again, and bake for another 90 minutes or until the meat is fall-apart tender. Enjoy!

Best Serving Ideas

Serve with a side of coleslaw or grilled vegetables to balance the spice. Cornbread or garlic mashed potatoes also pair well to round out the meal. A cold beverage helps cool down the heat.

Refrigeration Tips

Store leftover ribs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the oven or on the stovetop to keep the meat moist. For longer storage, freeze the ribs wrapped tightly in foil for up to 2 months.
